HCG levels not matching up?

Hi everyone, this is my first pregnancy and I'm not too sure about hcg levels other than what I've googled. 
Dr called me this morning saying my hcg levels are at 46,000 at about 6 weeks.. but my boyfriend was away and returned Jan 16th so I wouldn't have conceived until after then?! My periods are very irregular (5-6 weeks) so I'm just not sure! Very confused. 
I have 2 separate ultrasounds tomorrow as they think I might have an ectopic pregnancy or gallbladder stones 😞

And 6 weeks actually might make sense.  Because if you're 6 weeks along you may have actually conceived 4 weeks ago which would be Jan 16th - those 2 weeks are added to the time you last started your period.

If you conceived around January 16th your last period would have probably began about two weeks prior to that, putting you around 7.5 weeks (or less if you conceived later) so that sounds accurate. If your hcg is 46,000 you do NOT have an ectopic pregnancy. Ectopic pregnancies have much lower hcg levels. There is something called a heterotopic pregnancy which is an ectopic pregnancy coexisting with a normal intrauterine pregnancy, but that is very rare and highly unlikely. Everything sounds about right to me! Congratulations!
