Natural birth?

I'd like to hear the expierences you ladies had with non medicated births and medicated.
I have no idea what I want to do when that time comes, I've considered going natural and if pain becomes too bad to get an epidural. But i really want to keep off any iv if possible and go as long as I can with no medication. Any stories or expierences are more then welcome ^_^

I had an almost natural birth, as I had 2 mg of stadol during labor but nothing during pushing. It just helped take the edge off of the contractions. This is another option, and I am glad I did it because it helped, but I could still move around as I needed to.

My best advice is, if you want to go natural, do not give yourself the option to get an epidural. Obviously there are circumstances in which you may possibly need intervention, but you have to go into this CERTAIN that you want to go natural or else as soon as the pain hits youll be screaming for the epidural. I am literally not giving myself the option for an epidural. I am giving birth at a birth center that doesnt even carry any pain meds. That way I cant scream for the epidural when its not really needed. I trust my body, i KNOW i can do this. I accept that there could be complications, thankfully there is a hospital across the street if there is. But I am preparing my mind and body by believeing that i can do this!

My 1st was non medicated completely natural and not by choice either. I was very young and had no idea what I was doing, let alone that you couldn't get an epidural after a certain stage of labor. It was long and exhausting. Recovery was ok, but have tons of soreness & swelling down there.

My 2nd was with an epidural and boy what a difference. I went to 10cm with ease since I was so relaxed. My son was out in 2 pushes. Mind you 1 and 2 were 8 years apart so it wasn't easier bc they were back to back or anything. Recovery was a breeze.

3rd was an emergency c-section and I wouldn't wish that on anyone!
