Stay at home mommy!?

Question

Do you think being a stay at home mommy is amazing or Boeing?! Me and my husband want me to stop working when baby is born and stay till they go to school! What was your experience and what would you recommend your family and friends to do!?

In some cases it makes more sense financially for one parent to stay home. I don't think I could personally ever be a stay at home mom. Both of my best friends are stay at home moms and they both envy my career and the fact that I will continue to work. I'm sure it's a grass is greener situation, but I know for my personality I need to work.

It is a mix. I love being able to be home with my girl but it gets really lonely and kinda boring

Our plan is after birth I'll stay at home until school age. I work in a daycare and even with my half off discount it's pretty much a little over half my check each week going to daycare.

I think it all depends on what you want out of life. If you're not career driven then staying home might be best for your family, but if you want to go back to work after your children are in school you might not want to take to much time off and work part time or a few hours a week in your field to Lee your resume and skills sharp. I'm on my 3rd baby and I've always worked just because I get really stir crazy, but that's just me and I have a job where I can work 3 12s and their days when my husband doesn't work so it works out really well. But I don't get to see him that much. :(

That is my plan.  I'm quoting my job in a month so I can get the house ready for baby. We look that daycare but it would take all of my check and a part of his to pay for it so makes sense to just stay home.

If you can afford it why not. But if you aren't going to be ok financially ok then think of another idea.

I'm a SAHM. It's great but hard at times because I'm a really social person and need conversation and relationships with other adults. So I decided to continue to work just two days a week, am active in a local mom's group and make sure to still meet up with friends for dinner,coffee dates etc. I love though being involved with my son on a daily basis, teaching him to read, watching him take his first steps, seeing him develop into a sweet little boy! I'm glad to be home with him. It can be such a blessing but isn't right for every family. You'll know in time if it's the right fit for you!

If I could stay at home until kids are in school I totally would. Unfortunately both my husband and I have terrible student loan debt. So both of us need to be working...
