Ugh diaper bag

So I got a great diaper bag, or so I thought. But now that I've used it on a few outings, I hate it. It's tall, rather than wide, so I find myself stacking items in it, which is inconvenient, when I need something. It's also really heavy. My husband will not go for a backpack style. So I'm looking for recommendations on a diaper bag that's more wide than tall. Style isn't that important to me, because I'm pretty uncool. I prefer a good deal versus a name brand.
