Epidurals with scoliosis?

I have scoliosis in my lower back where my spine dips in pretty deep. Will I be able to receive an epidural or not? Will it be a problem?

It varies case by case, but usually they can do it.  You might want to talk to your dr and ask for an anesthesia consult before anything really starts.

I had my spinal fusion when I was 14 and mine goes from T3-L4. I spoke to my OB and they had me do a consultation with OB anesthesia. Originally they told me I may be able to have one, but I've had a lot of lower back problems while I've been pregnant and they called and told me a few weeks ago that they would not be comfortable with me having an epidural. Every case is different though so I would talk to your doc! They may want copies of old X rays or MRIs for their anesthesia team to look at.
