Is this normal for a 2 year old, or should I get him looked at?

My son lately has been clinching is fists and tensing every muscle in his body all the way to all the muscles in his face. From what I can tell, it seems to be when he is really excited about something. Sometimes he does it and says he is cold, but there is no way he is cold because he is completely bundled up. From what I remember, he doesn't do it when he is mad or upset. 
Is this a normal thing, or should I get him looked at by a doctor?

It can't hurt to see the pediatrician but it sounds like infantile shudders which are common and harmless. My 14 month old does it periodically when he's excited or if he's experiencing teething pain. The big difference between a shudder and a seizure is loss of focus. It can be hard to tell the difference (which is why it's advisable to see a doctor) but if your child is alert while it happens it's most likely not a seizure.

If he can't help it and his body just does it, I would get him checked. It may be a tick from epilepsy and or a minor seizure. Good luck!

I would see a doctor & explain what has been happening & they will do further tests to see what is happening. He may be having mini seizures or he may be developing a behavioral issue. It could be a number of things, but it's best to know & have him treated if needed. Hoping for the best!
