who took birthing and feeding classes offered by the hospital?

Where they worth it? Did they help? And are they possibly covered by insurance? Any advice appreciated!

We did, they were free. I won't take them for the next kid but I feel they helped my husband out.

We took them. Insurance didn't cover it. I didn't ask though.
My main reason for wanting to take the class was to see how my SO would do! Lol He surprised me and was great with everything.

I'm taking a class that's offered by a lactation consultant/doula, not through the hospital. It's 6 weeks total and, at 2 weeks in, my husband and I both love it! She offers super unbiased information and covers everything you need to know from labor signs to pain management to after care. I'd highly recommend looking in to see if there's a similar (not hospital affiliated) course in your city.

My hospital does a free tour, $60 for 7 hr childbirth class for a couple either 1 saturday or 3 weeknights.  I'm also doing a increasing comfort in labor class as I don't want to rely on meds and it's $25 for couple.  They do breast feeding, infant CPR and first aid, parenting, daddy to be and more for $25 per couple. Not covered by insurance at all and most hospitals will probably vary.
