In your opinion when is the right time to announce pregnancy to friends and family?

pregnancy to friends and family?" /> I am currently 4 weeks and 6 days pregnant according to this app and I'm not sure when the best time would be to let my loved ones know. I'm excited and want to shout it from the roof tops right now!!! but I'm worried incase something goes wrong so that makes me want to wait. What do you think? Feel free to comment what you plan to do. I think people should do what ever they think is right for them, wether that's sharing straight away or waiting till later, I'm just interested to hear others opinions.

My mom knows only because I went through IVF & she had to help with some of the shots. My husband is super excited & wants to tell his parents as soon as we have the 1st ultrasound. This is our first pregnancy after 10yrs of trying & I want to wait until the 12 weeks "safe" period is over. But he says it unfair that my mom knows & no one else does. So I'm letting him break the news since he's so excited.

It's soooooo hard keeping it in. And though the second you find those two little lines, you want to call everyone... it may be best to wait. For my first pregnancy, I was the one to tell everyone and anyone about it as soon as I saw the lines. And I ended up miscarrying 6 weeks? It was really hard. A few months later, I had people asking me how the baby was... that I forgot I told that I was pregnant.. it hurt a lot. So my suggestion would be 10+ weeks to tell anyone you are not very close to. And maybe tell your bestfriends and mom sooner. I think that is how I'm going to go about it this time. I will tell my man soon! My best friends shortly after. And my mom maybe in a week or two. And then his family after we are 10* weeks? Anyone else after the first trimester is over. That's the biggest risk of miscarriage.

I'm waiting to tell everyone else until I am about 8 weeks but I have told my Mom, best friend & my fiancé told his Mom right away. I have told my office manager at work so she knows what is going on. I found out super early so we aren't letting everyone know just yet.

It's a hard call. You're technically never out of the woods. I had a stillborn at 34 weeks, so my last pregnancy, only family and everyone Insaw on a daily basis knew I was pregnant. When he was born healthy, I made the announcement to everyone.

14 weeks, the beginning of the 2nd trimester. If miscarriage is going to happen, it is more likely to occur in the first trimester.

With my first pregnancy we planned to tell a few people after we had our first ultrasound.  We found out at the appointment that the baby had stopped growing about a weeks earlier (@ 9 weeks). I was glad I hadn't told anyone because I wanted to deal with things on my own.  But if you would want the support of certain family/friends, I would suggest telling them sooner.
