Should all citizens have to pass a citizenship test?

"The American Civics test is an examination that all immigrants must pass to gain U.S. citizenship. The test asks 10 randomly selected questions which cover U.S. history, the constitution and government. In 2015 Arizona became the first state to require High School students to pass the test before they graduate."

I thought this was interesting and am genuinely interested to know what everyone thinks. My personal standpoint is so many Americans, try and act like because they were born here in the US, they're special or better than others when really it's all about the luck of the draw. I think for people who say things like this they should want to do this anyways to say they've actually earned their right as a citizen here rather than just speaking from ignorance.

If a person who was born here cant even pass it, then i dont think immigrants should have to.

I think the test is stupid. Just saying. Because I can ask any adult I know who was born and raised here 10 randomly selected questions regarding U.S. history and they'd be able to correctly answer about 3. And the ones who would know the least are the ones who hate immigrants.

We spend years in our educational system reviewing history and everything behind it. We get tested throughout our educational career. So no, we shouldn't have to take that test because we've been doing it our whole lives if we were born here. As for those wanting to come into this country later on, then yes they should because they should have the knowledge of what our country was brought up on, whether positive or negative.

In Illinois you had to pass the constitution test to graduate or get a GED.

I took it once. I had a college professor offer extra credit if you passed it. I didn't pass it. I know my history and I studied. It was way more difficult than I anticipated.

I think it's a good idea to have them take it and they should pass to graduate or something. That sounds like a good idea. But what happens if they can't pass it? Lol. I just took a practice test and it was sort of difficult. I got a 70%. It's definitely something more US citizens should see and be able to pass. I don't know how you could implement it though. But interesting notion.

I see a lot of people saying since we study it all of our lives we shouldn't have to but if that's the case shouldn't the test be easy? and passed without a doubt? We all know the educational system is flawed and I guarantee a large percent of Americans don't know main things about our history or recall what they even learned through out school. I'm not trying to sound confrontational but I just think that's interesting.

Lmao I googled a citizenship test and got 100. I love social studies and history though. I know a lot of American citizens that wouldn't have known half of those questions but oh well.
