night terrors?

This is about the fourth time it's happened my son wakes up crying / screaming tears and all from a deep sleep. I pick him up to soothe him and nurse him when he does wake up. Is it possible for a 2month old to be having night terrors already? 😢

From what I've read of night terrors, you wouldn't be able to soothe your child if it was a night terror. They usually act like you're not there and that they are still alone.

If he is soothed by you, it is not night terrors but possibly a nightmare. For my son is did start at 2 months which is a little on the earlier side but he wasn't soothed by me...he screamed as if I wasn't holding him then just fell asleep. It was so scary. His doctor said most likely they'll happen again at age 2 and sleep training is not good for kids like this

Teething also can do that. My daughter started teething at 2 months and her first tooth came in 2 weeks later, so it can happen that early. She would wake up like that from the teething pain.
