For me, a real friend is loyal and supportive, but will tell you when you are wrong. I don't think we grow as people if we only surround ourselves with people who affirm our every thought and deed in spite of what they actually think about it!

It's subjective for each person. For me, a real friend is honest and loyal. I can work thru most things but disloyalty is a huge deal breaker for me. I live by the code that if I won't do it to you then you need not do it to me. This is why I have no friends however. I cut people off quickly. I just can't get past liars.
