Unplanned Birth At HOME!

Hello, I wanted to share my birth story!

Due date: March 3, 2017

It was March 3rd (due date) and I fell asleep around 12:303am and woke back up due to contractions around 1:30. I started timing them and they were every 2-3 minutes so I went to the hospital arriving there about 3am. They put me on the belt to monitor contractions and verified they are every 2-3 miniutes but I was only 2cm and 70% effaced which I have been for the past week. The nurse decides to send me home because I made no progress even though my contractions were very steady. I get back home at 5am still dealing with painful contractions every 2-3 minutes. I decided to take a warm bath around 6am because I could not fall back to sleep. I stayed in the tub for about 45 minutes when I started feeling the urge to push and I yelled for my husband and mother to let them know what was going on. My mother got my 3 year old dressed to take her to school and asked does she need to call ambulance to pick me up. Then I really felt the need to push and there was no time to do anything. I screamed he's coming and then my son was born in my bathroom with two single pushed and my mother who caught him. I stood there with a bloody mucus puddle holding him with cord still attached while,my husband was on phone with ambulance with them instructioning us to tie a show strong on cord and they will be here as soon as they could. My three year handled it very well and wanted to see her new brother and told me I made a big mess, it was the cutest thing. The ambulance finally arrived and took me to the hospital where I delivered the placenta.

My home delivery was unplanned but went very well. I did not tear and baby was just fine.
