can you check your own cervix for dilation?

Has anyone ever checked for there own dialation ? How do you go about doing that ?

Definitely not advised to check yourself you introduce the risk of infection

I don't think there is anything wrong with checking yourself, as long as your water hasn't broke and you make sure you are clean and wash your hands right before. My cervix is too high so I can't reach it to check myself this time but my sister always checked herself and was able to tell how she was progressing. Go online and look up the correct way to do it. It won't make you go into labor any faster but some people want to know.

I haven't tried because every time I use to get checked it would hurt, but I got an infection on my uterus because they kept checking me for dialation. I had a lot of hospital visit before I found out I had Preeclampsia.

I tried it. Couldn't reach. Just make sure to wash your hands really well. People say you will introduce bacteria but I can't imagine washed fingers are any dirtier than a penis going in there. Just make sure that if you are dilated DO NOT stick your finger in the hole. That's how you cause problems.
