Are you worried about postpartum depression?

I expressed my concern to my Ob about PPD, but she said since I never been diagnosed with depression we would have to wait and see. Thankfully I have a good support system. Anyone on here experienced it?

I'm going through it right now I was dignosed last week at 6 weeks postpartum. I was really anxious and crying all the time. Thinking I was a failure. This is aecond.child I didn't have these issues with my first.   I'm on meds now and they say it takes but a week for the meds to start working. So we will see.

I got severe pp anxiety with me second. We had a few losses before her and I was diagnosed with a chromosome abnormality and just one thing after another with the pregnancy. If I didn't have her next to me or my husband holding her I would think for sure she was dying. It was awful, but eventually passed.

I had postpartum psychosis with my first.  It was a nightmare but my doctors took really good care of me and got me into an awesome support group.  I'm scared it could happen again but at least I know what to do and I'm prepared.

I had it after my second( I have 4 kids) and it was awful. It certainly doesn't hurt to be on the lookout for it! I don't remember anything from my daughters first year. I look at pictures and I just don't remember any of that.

I had post partum depression with my first so I'm going to talk to my doctor about having the prescription ready for me incase I get it with this one, most likely I will. :-/ so hoping they have a prescription for me right wen baby comes

Very concerned. It will by my their baby and I have had post parthm anxiety both times, but to a more extreme degree after my second baby.
I already have severe anxiety disorder and depressive thoughts. I know in at an increased risk to have issues post parting because I'm struggling so severely in my pregnancy. I would like to avoid meds and so I've already begun therapy to hopefully manage and work through whatever will come. 
It's good to be aware. That way you can take action if things get bad and know when to look for help. But I also think it's important to give yourself grace. PPD and PPA are common and you're not alone if you go through it.

I'm so terrified of it! I already have depression (I'm 17, I've been on meds for it since I was 12😳) and my mother had PPD.

I had baby blues. They lasted for about a week and a half and stated when I came home form the hospital. It sucked :/ I just wanted to be happy and couldn't be. I hope you don't go through anything like this

If you've never had depression they don't worry about it as much but once you have the baby they will be asking you about it at your pp check up and maybe even the pediatrician will ask you too. They can't really do anything about it before you have the baby and worrying about might make things worse. Just enjoy your pregnancy and if you need help they have plenty of resources they will open up to you

I had post partum depression and anxiety after I had my first. It got so bad that I ended up needing medication for it. ☹️ I'm terrified of getting it again after I have this baby, but I'm at high risk for developing it since I have before.
