inverted nipples?

Has anyone else struggled with this I was planning on breast feeding but due to my nipples being inverted it's harder. Kinda feel like a failure at being a mom. I've tried nipple shields and for now I'm pumping but I'm really trying bc I want him to get his milk instead of formula. I'm trying to him some food bc I feel like he doesn't get enough :/

I have inverted nipples as well. I got lucky with my last child and was able to use a nipple shield. This time around I had no luck with the nipple shield and had to start formula feeding..

Just remember fed is best!

I have inverted nipples and tried the shield. My daughter hated it. I had to supplement formula. I now pump but I don't make enough milk. I've tried everything my LC suggested. I bled really bad giving birth via c-section and had to have 4 transfusions and that's one of the reasons I don't produce. I am fine now about using formula. Fed is best. Good luck!

You can try exclusive pumping...i do not breastfeed my baby i just pump every two hours and once during the night i couldnt not take the pain of her feeding and pumping together..i refuse to use formula

You're not alone. I have flat nipples and have to use the nipple shields to breastfeed. It's better than nothing and the weeding process is slow but I feel better using the shields than using formula.

I have a "lazy" nipple. My lo had difficulty latching on it for a while. Grasping my breast to sort of squish it forward and push the nipple out more seems to help her.
