Am I the only one??

Question

I am seeking serious responses here.... not bashing anyone but I'm extremely curious! Is there a reason y there are so many moms who neglect themselves... more specifically do not shower daily? I see a trend on several boards where moms say they never get to shower. Is it because baby is crying and you don't want them too? Are you that busy? Does baby never sleep longer than 5 minutes for you to? I'm so curious!

Showering is one thing I try to do every day for myself. I will either do it during one of my sons naps or my husband will play with him while I shower or I shower right when I lay my boy down. Just depends on the night, but I try and shower every day to give me that me time that I need to stay sane. I don't even care if it's for minutes, it makes the day a whole lot better taking just a little time for myself.

I shower everyday.... now shaving all areas; that is a different story. There have been times where I could only shave armpits and 1 legs before I HAD to get out.

It's a priority thing. Not that I'm I judging anyone if their priorities are different than mine. My best friend is always going on about how can you not keep the house clean with a baby and blah blah blah, but says she doesn't have time to shower except every 3 days or so. Personally I'll shower EVERY time with a dirty kitchen. My husband can help with the cleaning, he can not shower for me. But that's just where my priorities are. For single parents, I get it. I can't imagine doing it without help. Also, I work during the day so I need to be professional and for me that's at least washing my hair daily.

I think self-care is important and necessary for everyone and especially moms.  I put my daughter in her bouncer if I'm home alone so I can shower or do it she's asleep. I don't think being a mom has to include being a martyr and neglecting yourself.

I don't get this either.  Also not trying to judge but I feel it is important to take care of yourself.  Even just a quick 3 second in and out. We don't leave the house everyday but a shower makes me feel like a human.  My son also sleeps like shit and is a hold me baby so.

I put my baby in her bouncer and take two 30 minute baths a day 👌 if she gets fussy, then she gets fussy. I make sure to do it right when she wakes up so she's usually happy and I can talk to her. If it's a rough day as soon as daddy gets home I'm in the bath. He knows better than to question it, I watch my baby during the week and work full time so I do what I need to do lol.

I do it everyday, I roll my baby's bassinet into the bathroom and she sits in it and looks out the window while I shower and talk to her

When he was a newborn I didn't shower often. Now that he can entertain himself I can just pop him in his bouncer and take it in the bathroom with me. I shower daily, always while he's awake (I don't want to be rushed if he was sleeping and wakes up).

I put my son in bouncy chair in bathroom. It makes me feel so much better when I shower! I struggle with depression, not necessarily PPD and staying in pjs and not showering aggravates it.

Am I the only one??
