Pumping at night?

My son sleeps through the night so I wake up to pump around 4 am. Is it possible to eliminate that pumping session so I can sleep through the night or will that hurt my supply?

I got up and pumped once in the middle of the night for months when she dropped that session. I think at 10months I decided to try not pumping at night, and my supply was completely fine. Few days of adjustment pain & leaking if you do stop though!

You should be fine to drop it as long as your baby is sleeping thru all the way. It will be painful at first though! I stopped pumping in the middle of the night when my son started sleeping the majority of the night. I was actually hoping my supply would decrease as I have a slight over supply. However, instead of it decreasing, my capacity actually increased, and I'm getting just as much, if not more now, when I pump in the morning after my son eats. I think it depends on the person though.

Your supply wont slow, your body will learn to produce only when baby actually eats, it happened with my 3 kids,  get that much needed sleep mama ;)

Depends on how old your baby is. After 6 weeks you'll be ok. Get some sleep :-)

If your baby isn't eating what you pump at 4 am then, no it won't hurt your supply.  I did EP for a few months before transitioning to EBF, and I never woke up to pump unless my little one was up drinking a bottle too (even if dad was giving it to her). Sleep is too important, and more sleep might even help your supply.

I work graveyard and my daughter sleeps through the night. I don't pump when I'm home for two days. My supply has remained the same.

Not to change the subject but did you do anything to help lo sleep through the night ? Mine is 3months and wakes up every 2 hours if not more often . 
I'd love to know tips for this ftm .

I pump once a night too around 4 am bec y so usually bottle feeds for two feedings so I can sleep . Once my lo starts sleeping through , I wouldn't wake up to pump but in the morning , I'll probably just pump to store in the freezer

It will hurt your supply. Anytime you cut down on pumping it will eliminate the anount you would get from that session because you're telling your body you no longer need that amount. But if you have enough without it then its not really a bug deal!
