my dr wants to take birth control for a few months???

We've been trying over 2 years and recently my dr mentioned birth control pills because I've been getting cyst on my ovaries but I feel that it's takin 2 steps backwards!! Do y'all think it is can taking a few months of pills mess my body up or does it get it on track as far as getting off and start trying again right away

I think it would be a good idea. I went on bc pills for a couple of months for super heavy and long periods and they helped me so that my periods would be regular to have a baby.

I got pregnant with my son immediately after coming off of birth control after months of not being able to get/stay pregnant. I really think the hormones from the birth control helped, plus you're very fertile when you come off of it. Good luck!

Well, I got the depo shot several times when I was 16, stopped when I was 17. From 17-19 I didn't have a single period. So my doctor put me on birth control pills, I started getting semi irregular periods and I think it probably helped in the long run. I didn't start TTC until 20-21 but it took us 11 months, and I'm pregnant. 14 weeks :) 
I had started to just think I was infertile lol

I've had cysts and then was diagnosed with PCOS. I was put on birth control pills to regulate everything because I was always extremely irregular. I took them from about April to October. I stopped taking them after I got married and started TTC, I got pregnant 3 months later.

I've had cysts as well and I thought I couldn't have any but I kept trying and stay positive. The doctors are there to help, it doesn't hurt to try

I also have cysts on both of my ovaries. For me, Ir is a result of taking Clomid and Letrozole. I went on birth control for one month to try to get rid of them and it didn't do anything. My doctor keeps trying to get me to take birth control and I don't think it works for everyone. Let me know what your symptoms are it seems like we might have something in common.

prego. I have PCOS, I'm very infertile.

I know more people who have conceived almost immediately after starting or ending BC so I don't see any harm especially if it's only for a few months

I think it's a great idea. I recently started birth control pills two months ago not for cysts, but for messed up cycles. If I'm going to ttc, my periods need to be regular and we'll. I would try it for a couple of months.
