Soldering

Anyone know anything about soldering? We had to get new pipes on our water heater and the guy soldered them together right in our laundry room. I'm wondering about the fumes it puts off and if they are dangerous and also how long the fumes will stick around. We had to get this done due to a leak. I'm 35 weeks pregnant and am worried about baby
