I wa a just wanting to know the positives of an IUD! No negative ones please!( but concerns=yesss) Thank you!

I had an IUD put in right before I moved to Texas and it was the WORST decision I could have ever made (for birth control)! We ended up stopping in Kansas to get it removed at the ER. I was in so much pain and I got the one that only lasted a year or two. But it does depend on how your body handles pain and how you feel about having a piece of plastic in your uterus for so long.

-most effective birth control aside from abstinence
-low failure rate
-no hormones
-low cost
-good for 10 years 
-since no hormones, no wait time ifvyiu ttc
-minimal side effects. No acne, weight gain, mood swings etc.

You have it inserted and then each month just make sure it's still there. Simple.

Concern: its only recommended for those in monogamous relationships. Because the strings remain outside the cervix and the cervix remains slightly open, if you contract an STD it would be easier for any infection to leech "wick" up the strings and into the uterus which could cause sepsis
