period/ pregnancy issues

Hi everyone I have been trying to conceive for a month now and I'm about a week late on my period and I took a blood test to see if I was pregnant and came back negative . I have had some cramps today but no period still .., can my man and I still try to have a baby before if even comes ? Help !!! I want a baby so bad !! But period won't even come yet but I want to try for a baby do I keep trying or wait till I get my period ?
