did you find that the epidural helped and stopped pain?

I'm considering an epidural but just want opinions :)

With my first I was induced at 39 weeks because I had kidney problems. I sat up because I was nauseous and apparently it cuts the epideral off because within minutes they said it's time to push, they said there was no time to get an anesthesiologist in, I felt everything. Didn't feel the contractions though! I will be having another epideral this time but will not sit up!!

I had an epidural with my first and it helped me not to feel the contractions so I could relax, but when it came time to push, I felt EVERYTHING...even the stitches I got because I tore 😞 I'm not sure what I'll do this time around

I found it half stopped the pain! It only worked down one side of me so I still felt the pain on the other side

I felt so much pressure with my first child not to have an epidural but my labour was so long and I was so exhausted I needed it.. Best decision I ever made! It took all pain away I never felt a thing. With my second born I was too far gone for an epidural and although it was painful I coped quite well and was very proud of myself.. I'm currently 33 weeks pregnant and I have put it to the back of my mind, if I get there and I need one I WILL have it, after my 1st labour of 48 hours I think epidurals are a god send.

An epidural takes away all the pain. Unless they do it wrong then u might feel pain. I had an epidural with my first and i just sat through the second half of my labour didnt feel pushing didnt feel stitches.! Was fab👌🏻

I was a monster up until they came in to give me the epidural. When my mom and husband came back in the room it's like I was a different person. 
Of course they say the epidural can slow down labor so try not to get it to early. My doctor told me to get it ASAP and I was like 3-4 cm and never progressed after. So try and wait atleast until a 6.
