Late period, negative HPT

Has anyone else had a late period and a negative pregnancy test? I am now 3 days late and am getting negative hpt results. I am very regular and have never been late on my period. My husband and I did the BD almost everyday of my fertile window and I'm just curious if this has happened to anyone else and if anyone has just had a delayed BFP? Any words of encouragement or experiences would be greatly appreciated!
