your own birthing gown?? opinions

Did any of y'all buy your own? I want something cute and comfortable and I know hospitals gowna fall off and everything else

It's just going to get gross and disgusting. Then you will have to pack it up to wash it at home. Not worth it in my opinion. Use the hospital gown for the birth and then you can wear your own robe and cute clothes after.

My hospital gown didn't fall off. But it did get blood and  sweat all over it. You're giving birth, your gown doesn't need to be cute.

I'm planning on buying one to wear after delivery is over and I have a chance to get cleaned up and wearing the hospital one for the actual delivery. That way my own doesn't get disgusting and I can be comfortably after. I hate hospital gowns in general so the least time I can spend in one the better.

It's just going to get disgusting. I changed right after my son was born. Epidural wore off 30 minutes after and I was up and moving. If you want it that bad go for it just make sure your hospital allows you to wear your own gown.

I just feel better in my own clothes, so I'm starting off in a comfy tank top or old dress. I'm bringing old favorites that I won't be worrying about staining.

Looking cute is probably not going to be on your mind once your really having that baby.

I did skin to skin with my baby immediately after birth, & it was great that the nurses could just rip open the snaps & pull the whole top of the gown down to place baby on my chest. Hospital gowns are functional, & it's not even visible in post-birth pics.

I put a gown in front and used another gown backwards (put in on like a sweater) to avoid exposing my back side anytime I got up lol my water broke so I was a leaking mess and changed my gowns at least 2-3 times before I even pushed my baby out! Probably not worth it unless you're using it for after baby is born and you've gotten a chance to wear underwear and a pad

Most women deliver fully nude to be honest. You likely will not every get the blood, urine, feces and amniotic fluid out of your pretty gown of you choose to wear one. Just wear what the hospital offers.
