If your husband had a drinking problem and refused to quit, would you leave?

We have kids so i would leave for their safety.  But i would not nessisarily get a divorce, i would fight for counciling, and not live with him until we could be in a better place.  He is my husband, and i meant what i said when i said till death, but you cannot enable someone with a problem either.

I say fight for counseling, but in my case he wouldn't go. He filed for divorce.

I had to leave my sons father because he was an aggressive drinker. My life is a lot better now. Best descison I've ever made.

If an alcoholic does not want to make a change then nothing is going to change. I know this from personal experience. I had to leave before my BF at the time (now my husband) realized he needed to do something. Once he made the decision to stop drinking and get help I was there to support him.
