technology: good or bad?

technology is without a doubt the future. that is nearly unarguable. however, there's definitely some controversy about whether technology is "good" or not. yes, it gives you access to information at your finger tips, it's a great way to communicate, the list of pro's goes on. however, i work at a restaurant and i cannot tell you how many families come in who sit on their phones and say maybe 3 words to each other within the hour they are there while the other 400 words are typed on a screen. so, what do you think? is it good to an extent, or just one or the other?
