Is it possible for a Mirena IUD to fall out without you knowing?

I got the Mirena IUD inserted about a month ago. I've been bleeding on and off ever since. I'm nervous it fell out. Has this happened to anyone?

I did not have it put back in. I didn't want it because I was uncomfortable the whole time anyway but also my dr didn't think it would work. I switched back to the pill. 
I was cramping and spotting and went to the bathroom and it was in my panties. I think if I wanted another they would use a new one to guarantee sterility. My friend is on her second one and she loves it. No problem. So everyone is different.

Check for your strings!! If you can't feel them, it may have moved or fallen out.

Mine fell out. But not without me knowing it. A LOT of cramping. But my Dr. said I was the first one that she has inserted that has come out and she has put in hundreds. I guess my body rejected it. I only had it a month and a half. Bleeding and cramping the whole time.
