anyone else have to leave their baby for a trip?

We left my lo with his grandmother for 5 days because we are relocating so we had to go take care of some things for our house. He's always been great at playing independently and not very grouchy. Since we have returned he fights napping, I can't leave the room or he starts crying, he cries at almost everything. I know he was well taken care of and spoiled beyond belief but now I'm freaking out bc even at night if he wakes up he won't fall back asleep on his own. Today I got him to nap on his own but barely an hour in he woke up screaming and ended up falling asleep in my arms. I don't want to start bad habits but at the same time I don't know what to do to get him to be ok with us leaving the room.
