*nurse friends* could you? or could you not? maybe TMI for some?

Question

Okay, so I am a in home CMT and my client brought up a cool question today! If my fiancé got hurt/something happened and he needed me to bathe him or full assist him with simple daily stuff, could I do it? And without a hesitation I said of course, but I know my fiancé would fight me on helping him. This client then said their SO couldn't do it and had to hire us to do it, and the other CMTs say they couldn't fully assist their SO. So I then asked my fiancé what he thought and he even said it would be weird for him to have me take care of him! Which I completely get lol but I think I'd rather teach him & have him help if I was in that situation rather than have someone random like us come help! What is your opinion? I just thought this was kinda cool!

If something happened to me, I'd rather my s/o help me than anyone else. I have trouble trusting people, and that would be the last thing I'd want to go through after something that leaves me dependent on someone.

I would rather have my SO. I just don't like or trust people I don't know. I'm lucky I guess as after I have surgery at the end of the month, my GP's nurse will be coming to check on me and my SO will be working from home to help me out with everything else.

For me it would depend on the type and magnitude of care needed. I'd be happy to help my husband with things, but if he couldn't walk or something I'm not strong enough to carry him, I'd need help. Also if one of us was in a position where we needed someone to care for our basic needs, we wouldn't be working and so it would be more important than ever that the other work so we could pay our bills. So we would need to bring in outside help.

I love my husband but he's a big guy I couldn't help him even if I wanted to. No way I could help lift him out of a tub.

I wouldn't want him to have to give up hid independence completely in order to become my caretaker. Plus, his physical disability means a lot of caretaking would nsb beyond the capacity of his strength

I would do it myself.  I am a no nonsense kind of nurse.  I do almost everything my husband needs now because he is a little cry baby.  When he has blood work done I have him come to where I work and I go to the out patient lab where I know the phlebs and I draw him because he is horrible and they don't get paid enough to deal with his crap.

Yup. Without a doubt. If he needed total care, I'd provide it. I'd wipe his ass and change his diapers.  I'd feed him. I'd do everything for him.
