How do I get tan?!

I have pale skin, and I can only get barely darker by getting super sunburnt (not intentionally). I can only get the kind of tan I want with this gel stuff. And even then, it sometimes leaves streaks. I need a good tan this summer. Does anyone have good tips for tanning fair skin?!

If your gona be in the sun alot, get a little bit of a sun at a time. You need that first base of color. For many years I would just go to the beach or my pool and lay in the sun and burn. One year I even got sun poisioning. And keep your skin moisturized. The sun being on your skin is gona dry you out, and then your gona burn. Keep hydrated and use sun screen even in a low dose

I have very fair skin and have struggled with getting tanned. It got easier as I got older for some reason. My #1 advice is: DO use sunscreen. I went many years thinking that I couldn't get a tan if I used sunscreen but that isn't true. It takes extra time and dedication but trust me, your skin will thank you, and the tan will look better. Try to get out in the sun everyday in the summer/spring. Start with just 15-20 minutes everyday and slowly spend more and more time outside. Since your skin is what it is you will never get the kind of tan that people around you have, but in the end of the summer you will have much more of a tan than you had in the beginning :)

If you use creams I recommend that you do a body scrub 2 times per week, makes you less of a zebra :D you can also use another lotion in between to keep your skin softer. Dry skin and tan creams don't go well together.

I'm really fair and I like to use Sally Hansen airbrush legs and it usually leaves the perfect glow on me. It stays on until you wash it off so it's better for special occasions or if you're going to the pool for a day (because it's waterproof)

Tanwise is a really good product. I mix it with my regular lotion especially on my face and it's pretty natural looking. There is another one...I just can't think of it right now. It's a "foam".

Why not just accept yourself as you are and be comfortable in your own, natural skin? Tanning cause premature wrinkles, leathery skin, age spots, and skin cancer. Have you ever known anyone with melanoma? I have. It's pretty brutal. A slow, painful, awful death. Even self tanners and spray tans are bad for your body. The chemicals in them have been proven to cause cancer as well.

I have the same skin... Start by tanning out in the sun for like 5 min then go back inside and work up, the tan will protect your skin from getting burnt, so as you get more tan it will get easier.
