How long do you think you will stay in hospital for once you have had the baby?

I'm in New Zealand and apparently we can go home 4 hours after the baby is born, so I don't need to pack much? I had my first two kids in Australia and we had to at least stay one night. What about everyone else?

For a ceasarian usually 3 nights.. A normal delivery 1-2 nights

In the U.S. I think typically they like for you to stay 48 hours after labor.. Assuming no medical complications for you or baby. If you want to leave earlier than that I think they make you sign a waiver that absolves them legally. Regardless of how soon you ask to leave the doctor has to check you and baby before you go.

I'm in the UK and your normally home after 6hours but because I have gestational diabetes Il have to stay in a min of 24 hrs as my baby will need her blood sugars tested 3 times.

At my hospital, with a regular delivery with no complications most mothers and babies only stay 1 night after baby is born.

I'm in Alberta and they get you out within the day if your with a doctor. 4 hours with a midwife. As long as there is no complications.

In Tx, I checked in Thursday at 10pm. I had the baby at 8 am Friday. We checked out Saturday morning. I'm in NH now and heard with Strep B I'll have to stay a full 48hrs for monitoring.
