long term effects of epidural?

My mom says when they gave her an epidural on her first pregnancy they told her that in 10 years or more she would have problems walking and with her spine. I've been thinking about going all natural for my baby's birth but I'm such a wimp with pain idk if I'll be able to do it without an epidural. Any info on this? Long term effects of an epidural??? Thanks!

It definitely caused me some life long back pain.  My first one was a decade ago , not only did I find out the medicine doesn't work for me,  it's also given me a wonderful decade of horrific pain!

I had epidural 13years ago, after birth I had to have physio therapy on my back it was horrendous couldn't walk 5mins without stopping to rest.
I'm ok now 13 years later. I  now expecting my 2nd child and am determined not to have an epidural again.

I've heard it causes back problems. It's happened with my mother in law and sister when they got it. I'm planning a natural birth

I had one. My son is 4 1/2 now and I don't have issues from the epidural. 
I have some back issues but that is because my son was born with his skull against my back and tailbone instead of the softer face tissue! It left me a lump in the bottom of my back near my tail bone. Nothin we can do about it though. Drs we're pretty shocked at the size of his head  so I'm thankful for the epidural 😂

Literally nothing for me, I'm completely fine and plan to have it again with this pregnancy because I hate pain 😩

I had one over 3 years ago, no residual pains from that. Somehow giving birth to him actually fixed the awful back problems I WAS having, lol. Hopefully it doesn't give me future pain though. I think I just had a really great anesthesiologist.

Epidural just depends how they put it, if u have back pains. Go to a massage therapy, if you decide to get it. If you dont want the epidural, do water birth. I'm gonna try it for my first time and so far everytime i get back pains or need to relax or rest. I take a shower and after that i feel sleepy and relax

I have had 3. No issues. Only back trouble I have had was from my 1st kiddo that I had natural. She was sunny side up and her hard head pushed two vertebrae disks out a bit. Then after my 2nd I was in a car accident and got whiplash in my lower back. I didn't take the physical therapy like an idiot and I lost the ability to walk for about a year. I finally took the therapy and all better. The only lasting thing I have is a small scar on my back from the needle. That's it. So your more likely to have back issues from many other things than an epidural. I have heard of a spinal headache but that's fixable and doesn't happen super often. It is scary when it's happening cause you don't want to move but it's super fast. Hope that helps
