Gender?

Question

I keep hearing that the doctor can tell the gender of your baby at 13 weeks. Is that true? Have any of you found out that early? If so, I'm so excited!

I paid for an elective 3D ultrasound at 13 weeks and found out I was having a boy, and did the same with my daughter about 2 years ago. Both times she was correct.

I was 14 weeks at my last appt and she said it was to early to tell

If it's 3D they can. I'm going to a private Ultrasound place at 14 weeks to tell me

Most doctors won't do a gender ultrasound that early because the accuracy rate is not too good. If you go to a private ultrasound place, some of them will give you a gender prediction at 13 or 14 weeks. I had a friend who did that and their boy ended up being a girl. I've also seen a few people on here who had their early gender screening end up being wrong. 
There are blood tests that can be done at 10 weeks which is the most accurate way of predicting gender. It's even more accurate than a 20 week ultrasound. The tests also screen for some genetic disorders. It's unusual that they are covered by insurance, but the max out of pocket even without insurance is $200 (I believe). Most people end up paying around $150, which is close to what you would pay for a private ultrasound anyways.

There's a blood test the panorama or harmony test you can take as early as 10 weeks that gives you a 99% accurate gender prediction . It also test for abnormalities . Not all can get it done depending on insurance and such
