Cloth diapers and disposable?

I'm thinking about getting some cloth diapers to keep babe in during the day, and then use disposables for evening - night time.

Where do I need to go get the good cloth at? Do I need any special cleaning supplies? How many do I need if I'm just using it during the day and a few at that?

We started out in prefolds with covers they didn't really fit until my daughter was around 3 months. But they were pretty cheap on Amazon. The covers were more expensive but you don't need as many. We use disposables for overnights and if we are going to be out of the house more than an hour or two. About a month ago we started Fuzzi Bunz they work pretty well and they are adjustable. I find the insert a little annoying because sometimes it kind of slips out of the pocket. 
I wash the diapers separately every other day or every day if it smells funky or we go though a more than normal. I use 7th generation detergent. it is pricey but we do save a lot of money using mostly cloth diaper.

You can actually get some good "off brand" diapers on Amazon that are around $35 for five or six of of them. Otherwise, I really like Sunbaby pocket diapers and you can find that website by googling. You don't need any special cleaning supplies, but you should check out the Fluff Love University website to see if the laundry detergent you use is cloth compatible. Lastly, if you plan on washing diapers every other day, I would get 10-15 cloth diapers. Hope this helps!
