oversupply?? I'm losing my mind, please help!
My baby is 4 weeks old and my LC has had me pumping after every feed since she was born in order to build my supply since I was using a nipple shield and that can inhibit supply due to lack of nipple stimulation. At this point I am pumping 3-4 oz at every session and pump about 8 times a day. I only do 1 bottle a day and also pump to replace that feed.
The problem is I am finding my breasts are constantly full. I get a little relief after pumping and less than an hour later they are full again. I am losing my mind from pumping so much and I feel like my supply is fine so I'd really like to stop pumping after every single feed. I return to work in 6 weeks and will pump at work to replace feeds. I plan to nurse when at home but stop pumping after I nurse and only pump if we give her a bottle. How can I start weaning from the pump without becoming extremely engorged or taking a hit to my supply? I will still be nursing around the clock for 6 more weeks.
