Is it important to you, if your child grows up in an apartment or house?

I'm currently in the process of looking to buy my first home with my husband, but the insane market prices here have me thinking it may be best to wait and just continue to save and hope prices go back down.

Someone asked me if I would consider having kids where I live now - a townhouse style apartment (we have 2 floors), but I'm not quite sure. I always envisioned my children growing up with a big backyard, like I did. I'm not against it though, just something to think about.

What are your thoughts on this?

Its not important, I just want the apartment or house to be clean and have enough room.

It's more important to me that my son has a stable family and home environment than an apartment versus a house. He's only four months right now, but even if he were older I wouldn't have an issue with us living in an apartment. The complex that we live in has a lot of "yard" area and a playground, though. I was worried about the baby crying and my neighbors complaining, but we talked to them before he was born to sort of warn them/apologize in advance. They were really cool about it and later said that they never hear him so it worked out for us.

It will be a little while until potential kids would need a yard anyways, so don't forget that. I want a yard for my babies but we're expecting next month, and in a town home until I assume she'll be at least 2 or so. Saving up for a real house!

I prefer my child to have a yard to go outaide and play in but when it comes down to it theres plenty of parks etc around if we were to save some money and have no yard.

Personally I'd wait until I was in a house and keep saving. Remember I said personally! In the end it's all up to ye. I'd prefer a yard for them to play in and the extra room a house offers!
