Any moms had a natural birth at a hospital in Austin tx?

I was going with a birthing center due to me wanting to labor and delivery in the tub. 
However, my insurance only pays for prenatal so everything else is out of pocket. We can afford it but we would be struggling a lot. Hubby doesn't want me working until 6months after the baby is born. He takes care of everything with the help from his family.

I figured it would just be nice to not stress so much about the money and give birth at a hospital since my insurance pays for everything. 
I'm willing to make this sacrifice for our family but I just want to feel confident in giving birth at a hospital. So far I see a lot that will let you labor in tub but they womt do delivery in the tub.

My biggest fear is they are going to freak out the moment anything happens that's not "normal" since I have to sign a waiver for vagina or c-section I would have to get a c -section and I don't want that at all. 
Any good natural birth hospital stories would make me feel less stressed. Thank you guys.

It's not so much up to the hospital. It's up to your doctor. So talk to your doctor about your concerns.

Find out all the hospitals csection rates and vbac rates. I talked to my care providers about my desire at EVERY VISIT to be sure they truly supported me! My first (the OB) seemed a bit annoyed at my alwats bringing it up, but seemed authintically supportive of the fact that the decision was mine, even if it wasn't the same decision she would have made. I did ask for the epidural at 9.5 cm (😂) and my ob politely suggested it was too late. When i then basically demanded an epidural or csection (😂😂😂😂)  my doctor kindly but firmly said "Ashley, i can call for the epidural if you really want. I won't deny you the epodural if you want me to order it. But its too late for it to kick in and i know how important having a natural birth is to you and id hate to see you have made it this far and not get what you wanted", so she did help me through the last 30 min to hour.

With the 2nd OB i had (that i fired at 16 wks, see other post in this thread) he always had a weird story for why epidurals are good, but he "supports whatever" i want. I just felt off with him until that visit where it was clear. My midwives we very clearly extremely supportive.

Hey I'm so happy to see another mommy in the Austin area on here!!! My husband and I live in cedar park and we recently found a birthing center here close to us and  we have a appointment to grow the facility next month. I will have to ask them about their delivery procedures and let you know :)

I had 2 hospital births in Houston, both good experiences. Both were induced, but i didn't get any pain meds either time.

The first birth was at a Methodist. When i was checked in for the induction i brought homemade cookies and let them know that i was a "natural" birth person and would prefer a nurse experienced with natural labor/who enjoys natural labors. My nurse was the most important person at my birth. My husband was amazing, but once i hit transition i was insane and my nurse kept cheering me on. To have a medical professional cheering me on made me KNOW i could do it. Doc didn't appear until pushing time.

The second time i had another OB, but at 16 wks he started emphasizing that it was safer to GET the epidural, but that he would "support" me either way and that in "Brazil and China they dont even LET women labor vaginally" 🤔😣😯😲. I found a new care provider that day! Ended up going with a team of midwives at a local hospital. Bc they worked for a local major hospital they were much less crunchy or natural than your average Midwife, but they were still more permissive than most OBs in my experience. I was still induced. My nurse was again, pivitol in my success. And again, my nurse (and huaband) was the only person in the room until i was 10 cm. I live in Houston, which has a CRAZY amount of hospitals, and choose to drive WAAAAAY across town for the one i delivered at (Ben Taub) bc they serve a high % of hispanics (who are sometimes also epidural avoidant) and have the highest vbac in the state. Even though i want a vbac, the high vbac % spoke to me about their ability to allow women to labor naturally/with fewer interventions and not jump straight to the knife.

Not in your area, but want to wish you luck with the natural delivery. 
Have you discussed your desired plan with a doctor at the hospital?  My hospital actually prefers moms to go as natural as possible, even though you sign consent papers, they don't want their c section numbers high (you should be able to check the hospitals rates, just keep in mind if they get a lot of emergencies from surrounding areas those numbers may be artificially high).

**I did end up with a c section after a long labor, but it was a safety issue at the end (i was still only 8cm and his heart rate kept tanking), and even looking back it was definitely the right decision for my son and I.
