Lotus Birth ?

Question

Has anyone or is anyone considering practicing a lotus birth? Its when you leave the placenta attached until it falls off naturally. I'm very interested in it but the boyfriend doesn't want anything to do with it. I heard it is very beneficial for the babies but just wanted to speak to someone who has done or is considering it.

Caring for a newborn is already stressful enough I wouldn't want to have to care for my placenta too lol

So you just carry your placenta around with you if it doesn't fall off for a few days?!

I haven't and am not considering it just for warning I have researched due to curiosity's sake but that can cause infection in newborn baby so just keep that in mind... I'd prefer to not take the chance. Now, I think delayed cord clamping is a wonderful alternative! 😊

I'm quite interested in it as well, but I fear my partner is not, so I guess I have to stick with delayed cord clamping. *shrugs*

We are doing a "half lotus" :) a typical stay at our birth center is 6-8 hours after birth before going home, so we plan to keep the placenta starched until we go home!

yes im thinking about it but im not sure if i will be able to do so..because i think its a bit of a hassle.
