Am I over reacting? Kyle is my boyfriend and Jen is my friend.

I feel like, yes. It doesn't seem flirtatious, it doesn't seem like he's meaning anything by it except a sexual pun and suggesting she maybe dress up as a character as a surprise for her SO to the max if he (the SO) is a true fan, obviously he'd love it. She doesn't seem offended or anything so I'm not sure why you are. I thought it was a funny joke/comment, but if you're bothered by it say something to him/her and let them know 1) he doesn't need to talk like that and 2) she should put him in his place/not enable that kind of behavior in conversation. Some people are more open about sexuality than others so if you're uncomfortable, speak up!

I would be absolutely mortified at Kyle's inability to proof read and/or not even knowing the difference between the words "chain" and "change," too! Let him know how disappointing that is!! ...As far as what he was so poorly attempting to joke about, that scene like the single most iconic image from that entire movie franchise so yeah, if that's what you're pissed about you're completely overreacting. 🙄

I think it depends on his relationship with the guy she is dating and your relationship with the girl. My hubby will make jokes sort of like that with my best friend because he knows that's ok. It wouldn't be weird for me if he made that comment to the gf of his close guy friends either. Just because of how close we are to those people and the people they date and they would make those same types of jokes about my hubby and me. However, if this is some girl you don't really know well and he doesn't know either of them well then it would make me uncomfortable. It really depends on the friendships and the boundaries y'all have set for them. If y'all aren't really open about sex and stuff I could see it being uncomfortable. My husband and our friends are really open about all of that. Either way, if it makes you uncomfortable then he does need to respect that and not make those comments.
