Did you buy What to expect when your expecting ??

Did you guys by "what to expect when you're expecting"? I'm afraid it will overwhelm me with all the information and the stuff that could happen!

Never read any baby books. I just called my hospital and went to parenting classes, breastfeeding classes, and birthing classes. So much better and free!!

I bought it & thought it was a great reference! I used it mainly to look things up-- like what's safe/unsafe & normal/abnormal. I didn't find it scary or overwhelming.

It focuses on fear-based childbirth & pregnancy, I would pass

I bought it at the beginning but I'm not impressed. The internet is much more helpful than the book.

It's grim. Don't waste your time with it. Someone gave it to me at my baby shower. It should be called "1001 Ways To Scare A New Mom."

I hate that book full of fear. No need when my midwife gives me a packet full of yes and nos

I didn't like it either. I much preferred Shiela Kitzingers book!!

No my midwife said it really isn't that good of a book. I bought and read Ina May's guide to childbirth.

I'm reading this wonderful book right now I got from the library called easy labor. Just gives you all the facts about different ways to give birth and how to make sure it's enjoyable and less painful according to your options. Very informative with no opinions really which I love. Just a suggestion :)
