induced and no regret
I got induced at 39 weeks it was my decision to do so and I know some of you have different views but I don't regret it at all. I'm sharing my story just cuz I know FTM here like me are curious and they wanna know everything just like I did before I made my decision. It was Tuesday morning at 4am I went in I got changed and started IV and pitocin. I was already 3cm dilated and according to nurse I had irregular contractions which I didn't even feel or notice. You do get hooked up to the monitor for heartbeat and contractions. From then I was only allowed ice chips. You can walk to the bathroom or anywhere in the room. Until I started feeling contractions which wasn't painful but really uncomfortable so hours went by and by afternoon I got my water broken and got epidural since I was feeling back labor and I did not like it! Epidural went great I didn't feel pain just little pressure. From then you can't walk but you don't want to anyway cuz it's only time you can get decent nap which I did and felt great lol. By 5pm that same day I had strong contractions that I can feel and pressure like I needed to push so nurses started getting things together and by 3 strong contractions and 3pushes each I gave birth ! I won't ask for more epidural once you start feeling pressure because thank god I was able to feel that or else I wouldn't know how to "push" you are still numb so don't worry not painful but pressure like someone is pressing down haha which yes your baby is !
Recovery was little tough I got 2nd tear so stitches and also got hemorrhoid not fun! Once I choose my induction date I was able to relax which I can guarantee made me dilated cuz I was only 1cm the appointment before. I was able to pack and prepare for things. My SO was super calm which he knew what and when to do things for me. I was in control which I liked :) no surprises. I hope this helps. I went in with no information and nervous what will happen but once you get on that bed and start getting ready your body knows and you are strong enough to do whatever is best for you. Good luck ladies:)
