birth story 31 hrs labor

My labor started around 4am. I woke up to contractions that were 7-10 mins apart. After staying up and timing them for a while I realized how slow things were moving and decided I should try and sleep while I could. I labored all day and around until my contractions got 3-5 mins apart and went to the hospital around 9pm. They checked me and I was only 1.5 cm dilated.😕 I was so mad bc I had labored all day and had not dilated anymore than I already had been at my previous dr appointment. The nurse made me walk 30 mins to see if there were any changes. When I came back from my walk my water broke on the bed before she could check me. Before this point I hadn't decided on an epidural or not. After my water broke my contractions were off the chart! I knew I wanted an epidural and ASAP! After waiting 4 hours for all the blood tests and fluids to be administered I got the epidural. BEST DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE! lol kudos to those that can do it natural but I would get an epidural all over again. I went from holding onto the bars of the bed for dear life, throwing up, and not being able to talk to a chilled out layed back labor. I could still feel my legs. It just numbed the important parts!about 11:50 am the next day they told me I was a 10 and that I could start pushing. I pushed until the head came out then stopped so my hubby could suit up to help with the delivery. My midwife guided my husband to pull our son out from there. What a great experience! I love that my husband was able to be involved! After less than 30 mins of pushing out came our son, weighing 6 lbs 13 oz at 12:07pm
