Military spouse moms? Question about navy hospital

So I'm just curious, I see everyone being able to tell the gender at 14/15 weeks. 
I'll be 15+4 when I have my next appointment but I don't think they will do an ultrasound? Just a heartbeat check? Anybody have any experience of navy hospitals and whether I will have  scan or just a heartbeat check?

We are having to pay because they won't do it till 20-28 weeks at the military hospital because tricare only covers two ultrasounds

My husband is in the army, but I assume it's pretty similar since Tricare only covers so much. If you're not high risk, they will only check the heart beat. You'll have your anatomy scan around 20 weeks which is when they can tell you the gender.

My husband is in the navy however I've opted to go to a regular ob off base because I've heard military hospitals aren't really the best. With my first I wasn't allowed to be told the gender until 21 weeks. I'm hoping I can find out sooner with this one and a different dr.

MOST Doctors won't predict gender at 14/15 weeks because it's so unreliable. Many of the people who know the gender early either find out by blood work (10+ weeks) or pay for a private ultrasound.

I go to a regular ob and won't be finding out the gender until I'm 20+ weeks (soon) but unsure why. I've had 3 ultrasounds before (confirming pregnancy, measuring the baby, yada yada) but no gender reveal.
