Are you for or against the electronics ban on flights?

I am surprised that there isn't a discussion for this, so if I managed to miss it, I apologize for the duplicate.

The US and UK recently banned electronics on flights coming from 10 airports in countries that are primarily Muslim.

I feel like it is preferable to the travel ban, but the fact of the matter is that we are still targeting people based on their religion. It is just another way to feed the Islamophobia that is running rampant through our country (I'm speaking solely about the US as it's where I live). There are many people from these countries who aren't even Muslim, but even those that are shouldn't be subjected to discrimination because of the extremists that follow the same religion. And, in reality, if someone were to plan a terrorist attack, I am sure that they could do it without their laptop.
