Idk anymore

So last month me and my so had unprotected intercourse, not ttc but not preventing it. Well I took a test around Sunday and it looked to be negative. Well Monday I spotted until Wednesday and it wasn't like my normal period but it was some blood. And I told my so that and he said "so you might be pregnant?" I didn't think anything of it but I just don't know if I should test again or if the spotting was my period.
