I wish there was better education about the reproductive system in general--we grow up thinking everyone cycles every 28 days with ovulation on cycle day 14, and that's not true. They always lecture you on how easily you could get pregnant...they never tell you how hard it can be. There are so many details you don't learn until you do your own research--it's ridiculous.

I do wish someone had warned me how delicate the reproductive system is. Who knows - maybe I could have prevented the hydrosalpinx from happening if I'd known the symptoms. And maybe I would have tried to have kids earlier. ☹️

Yes I think that the entire reproductive details should be taugh (just as we teach details about plant and animal life in biology class). Whether we as a society like it or not a 16 year old girl is biologically a mature woman.  She should undertand how her own body works.

I really wish I had known more about it. Not just for TTC but other health reasons. Like chronic migraines, insulin resistance, thyroid issues, ovarian cysts, and about a metric shit ton of others. It wouldn't have be in depth or anything just "hormones effect all these different metabolism and body functions."

As a credentialed health teacher who teaches sexuality education and family life I do not believe that it should be included; however, I do believe that we should teach the truth about getting pregnant, etc.

We practically teach kids that you kiss and get pregnant, and although this is true for some, the reality of the situation is that for the greater majority of people taking up to a year to get pregnant is "normal."

I do believe in teaching the statistics and what actually needs to happen in order for two people to get pregnant.  Beyond that I don't feel it needs to be or should be taught. Maybe at a collegiate level, but not lower than that.
