Benefits of having pets?

My husband wants to get a puppy for our baby shes 7MO. I'm also happy to get a new member in our family. Another reason we want to get one is my husband works during nights and I stay alone with the baby so it helps us a little.

But other then that I wanted to know are dogs good for babies?

I would rescue an older dog that's already been trained. Training a puppy can be very difficult especially when you have a baby to take care of and they also need tons of exercise. If you rescue an older dog (2-3 years old) they're already potty trained and passed their destructive crazy puppy stage!

I would personally await a little while longer. Puppys are hard work you will have to clean up after it , toilet train and obediance/disapline train it. Takes a heck of alot of attention and time.

Yes, but keep in mind that a puppy is a lot of work. I just went through all of the puppy stage and can't see how people could do that with a baby as well. They whine at night and need to be let out a fair bit. They also nip which needs to be trained out of them.

That being said, I love my puppy! I think babies and puppies can be good friends.

Any dog can be good for a baby. Just make sure you train it well. Make sure your baby knows what she can and can't do with the dog. Dogs and cats are beneficial to babies because they help boost their immune systems

Dogs are great for babies. You can train the puppy. Just make sure the baby doesn't pull on the puppy's tail or ears because you don't want your baby to get nipped
