Antidepressants questions??

Question

Any mommas out there on antidepressants? I have an appointment this Friday to discuss starting them. Since I've had pretty bad anxiety and some depression. Did they help you? How does it make you feel?

I got off my anxiety/antidepressant when we started trying for a baby (per drs recommendation) and got back on 6 weeks postpartum. And I totally feel like myself again. I'm happier, my husband feels like he got his wife back, I enjoy my baby more. I feel like a better mother and wife. It's been great :)

Used to be on high doses. Helped a lot but depending on he medication, I had side effects like night sweatpants or hallucinations. The night sweats were on almost all that I ever tried. Hallucinations was just on one time. Overall helped tremendously. I took them for depression and high anxiety. I haven't needed them since I got pregnant. My baby is almost 5 months and luckily I still haven't needed to refill.

Before I started my medication I was in a complete fog. The days felt like they were running together. I was always mad with the smallest of things. Fighting over nothing, short tempered with my kids(which I get so mad at myself because they are just babies.). I had to seek help. They have given me energy and a more calm nature. I'm not stressed as much and go easier with things. I like waking up feeling better about myself and getting the day started. I love myself a little more because I have accepted to feel this way and be happier.

I've been on them before and personally they didn't help.
They make you feel like a zombie like you can't express emotion but you still obviously have the same thoughts troubling you so for me I felt trapped in a weird way for not physically being able to cry

How long before you ladies started to feel it working?

I've been on them for almost 3 years. I take Zoloft and it gives me a clear head. I sometimes take Xanax too when my thoughts are racing. Also amazing. The first time I took them together it really quieted the storm, I remember feeling like my thought train derailed and asking if this is what stupid people felt like haha

I have been on them since before pregnancy. I delivered 3/18. They make me feel like myself. I take Buspar and Prozac, plus Trazodone for sleep.

My Dr just prescribed me some today ill be starting really hoping they help me start to feel normal again.
