Does your boyfriend/husband treat you like shit when his kids are around?

I'm just curious how common this really is. I have been with my boyfriend for 2 1/2 years now. When his kids come to stay with us, he is constantly putting me down and being mean to me. He is also hard on my kids as well. 
I love his little boys so much, but I dread them coming to visit because I know how I will be treated. I keep hoping that it will stop, but it hasn't.

I wish my SO would! You need to really nip this in the bud!! You not saying/doing anything is making him act this way still. You're going to be in these kids life, He needs to respect you because believe me, They see it and they're going to start treating you like that and they're going to think it's okay because daddy does it.

That's definitely not ok and has nothing to do with his child/children. You need to stand up for yourself and even more so need to stand up for your child/children! He is teaching his son it's ok to treat woman like shit and you're teaching your daughter it's ok to be treated that way!

I'm sorry, but this isn't right. It's mentally abusive to make your partner feels less than you, putting them down, etc, it's a way to gain control. Which in a relationship you should be equal. I honestly think you should end this because no one deserves that treatment from someone they love. I understand you like his children, but at the same time, you have to do what's best for you. I have seen this a lot in mean. I don't know why but I think it's just a power surge maybe? Like they want to impress their kids/friends so the lash out on the ones they love not really realizing it. I would just sit down with him and tell him how you really feel. Sometimes honesty is the best policy
