To Clomid or not to Clomid?

Hi Clomid Buddies!

I have PCOS, irregular cycles, it's CD 14 and I don't show ovulation at all, and I currently have a very thin endo lining according to the ultrasound. Basically my doctor let me know that nothing's going to happen this month. My dr said my options are to let my body try to do it's thing naturally and only use progesterone, if needed to induce my periods or I can do Clomid next cycle.  I'm concerned because doesn't Clomid make the lining thinner? Also, will is cause my to grow larger cysts? The doctor said that may happen. I'm stuck between these thoughts AND the biggest game changer is that hubby doesn't want me on it for the reasons of dealing with my mood swings and for sexy time to feel like work. 😠 I'm tempted to do it anyway and not tell him. We both want a baby and currently ttc after early mc last October.  To Clomid or not to Clomid? Thanks ladies!

I know this is VERY late but I’m doing Clomid without telling my partner. I know that if I told him it would make the BD work rather than fun. He would lose libido at time to act due to nervousness and the pressure of making a baby.

Tonight I take my last dose of clomid! I'm not sure when the symptoms start but I haven't been mean/moody only have had some night sweats/hot flashes. If you think it's right for you go for it! I explained to my husband what was going on with me and that this is our best bet. Good luck in whatever you decide!

I'm in the same boat for a lot of that. Pcos, never ovulate, and hardly ever have a period. I'm on progesterone now to get the ball rolling and then will be taking clomid. You should also ask your doctor about metformin, as I heard it might be able to help with endometrial lining or the fertilized egg sticking after being on it for 60-90 days (that's just what I've heard). I'm not currently on metformin because my need for it doesn't seem to be so great since I don't have the typical pcos.
Anyways, about the clomid.
It can result in those things, but it's usually after extended use. For example, my doctor she's only going to try for about 6 months maximum with clomid before sending me to someone who is even more specialized in fertility, just because the longer on it the more your risks are increased.
I personally think it's worth a shot.

My last period was last month on the 19th, but before that my last cycle was October 2016. So I opted out to try Clomid. Hoping this is my month! Maybe even Twins👏

I added vitamin E to my routine to help with lining issues. If you're getting a prenatal and DHA plus some extra vitamin E, that should help. Your doctor should be giving you suggestions to help your lining as well or else there's no point forcing ovulation.

If you're always forcing a period, there is no egg to meet sperm so you're kinda spinning your wheels. Clomid has different side effects for different people. Some get more emotional, some get hot flashes... it just kinda depends. The key is to remind your husband it is temporary.

I don't suggest doing it without his knowledge... that doesn't make for a strong partnership.

I am on my first month and symptoms haven't been too bad. Major cramping during ovulation ( if i ovulated... I got a positive opk but unfortunately not a guarantee) we won't start scanning for ovulation until we try a few rounds of clomid first. I have definitely been a bit grouchy the second half of this month but only two days I noticed pretty bad (cd 8-9) I took clomid 3-7. Slight headache more days than normal. Definitely tell hubby bc he will notice the symptoms at some point I'm sure! If I get pregnant these symptoms will be SO worth it and obviously even if they were a bit worse would still be worth it!

Does clomid ever make sex hurt, I have done 2 rounds 100 ml and ovulated both time but it make sex hurt like my overiers are just so swollen??

I conceived with my son on our first round of clomid.  The progesterone did not induce a period & was told to start the clomid without it. I had some intense cramping in the beginning but clomid did not affect my mood. PCOS has made me feel very off hormonally, being pregnant made me feel so normal.  
We are now starting the process again to try for one more kiddo. Patiently waiting to see if we were successful on the first round again. 
I would say that taking clomid without your husbands knowledge seems like a bad idea. I had to go to a different doctor & get ultrasounds at the hospital vs the clinic due to conceiving with a fertility treatment. Plus it’s something you are really going to want him on board for. I agree the sexy time does & can feel like a chore. I would suggest not telling him when you are ovulating & just maintain a consistent sex life.

I also have PCOS and very irregular periods. In the time I've been charting, all my charts have been monophasic/anovulatory. My doctor is starting me with Femara, rather than Clomid, because she thinks it's more effective with PCOS.  I've also heard the side effects aren't as bad. If I may ask, how come your doctor isn't considering Femara?

If you have PCO you should ask your doc about Letrozol.. same principle as Clomid— stimulates ovulation but works better for PCO, supposedly.
